Invoicing
It is obvious, but also surprising how many businesses fail to send invoices quickly and accurately to their customers.
For large invoice amounts, call the customer to confirm each delivery has arrived and that no goods were missing or damaged. Confirm the payment details.
You should ensure that your invoices:
- Are sent to customers promptly, ideally on the same day that the goods or service are delivered.
- Are delivered to the correct address and member of staff within the customer's business.
- Clearly display your payment terms.
- State that you reserve the right to charge interest on late payments.
